Hurricane Helene 2024
When crisis reached our doorstep, our community showed up for each other.
In the wake of devastation, loss, fear, and confusions we watched our community step up in the most incredible way. In the first 4 days following the storm dozens of volunteers poured in to offer help handing out thousands of pounds of food, water, cleaning and hygiene supplies. There were many who were helping while their own homes were without power and had significant damage. The outpouring of love and generosity radiated out through the country from here to Alaska. A disaster relief fund was created and ARC was able to meet needs from replacing car seats to repairing a contaminated well. The road to recovery is long and we will continue to support this community as we heal and move forward. We are so grateful for everyone who gave their time and resources.
New Wheels, Bigger Impact: ARC Gears Up to Serve More
Thanks to a generous grant from our partners at Second Harvest Food Bank, ARC was able to purchase and outfit a new van to transport food donations and orders. This upgrade significantly increased our capacity to serve the community and respond to the growing need.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Second Harvest, Carolina Auto Warehouse, 2 Gals Graphics, and Alliance Fleet for the support and service that helped make this dream a reality.

Coming Soon: A Fresh Look at ARC
After nearly 15 years at our current location, it’s time for a refresh. Thanks to a generous grant from Second Harvest, we will be installing new shelving and replacing flooring throughout the building. Appalachian Flooring and Tile will complete the renovation by June 2025, bringing a fresh new look to our space. Additionally, Midway Baptist Church has sponsored the renovation of the ARC office and waiting room, creating a more welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
Stay tuned for updates!
